About an humanist approach

Humanism, a word the specific understanding of which, differs among people, and also among countries.

Generally speaking, one could describe humanism as pretty much everything the modern states in Europe are made of, as humanism started centuries ago in the days, when humans were told, to toil for their lords, in the name of possibly entering heaven one day – with humanism instead emphasizing human agency about their destinies, and modern political philosophies, they share humanism like an ancestor basically.

Or specifically, one could describe humanism as a philosophical stance, that sort of replaces a religious morale compass. Meaning, that when running a secular state, there arguably should be some solid guiding principles, instead of treating it all like: “Let’s see what we can get away with, while we fill our pockets.” – And while i.e. Christianity arguably still can provide such, it quickly gets into about which denomination’s interpretation actually. Like, I don’t read in the Bible, that Jesus was on about making a racially pure military, and yet, the U.S. Secretary of “Defense” is on about that, and then goes on to lead some prayer. And in such context, sounds a quite weird interpretation of it all.

Personally, I would describe humanism as a world-view. That is, when looking at the world, that it is a world of billions of individual beings, who are biologically nearly 100% identical, with soul and feelings and needs very much alike. In example, if a special commando were to jump into Mr Dobrindt’s bedroom at night (as police did in Germany even to minors to deport them), naturally he’d be likely scared, even though he is the big minister of interior of Germany. He might even have a panic attack, once he realizes, that because politicians can’t be bothered to do some proper work and instead opt like EU parliament to just deport entire nationalities into some “return hubs” in third countries – that such policy means he might end up in some camp in Uganda. And just because he has like a big bank account, doesn’t really make him a different type of human than other humans are.

In that regard, I am on about a humanist approach. In particular, an assembly of representatives of all nationalities living in the country, as a neighbourhood gathering. Sub-part of it, a refugee council, where nationalities affected by broad events are sitting, to streamline support i.e. for journalists living in exile, for them to be able to run their language news medium from local offices. But also concerning all countries, looking together at a world map, to see which countries would benefit in particular from scholarships, such as for medical professions. And to generally help those nationalities, who are in need of assistance in regard to some modern civil state structure.

And basic premise of it all is, that every human, and also group of humans in terms of nationality, deserves to be recognized as such, instead of being swept under a carpet just because some white dudes want to score in some elections.
